We are glad to announce the availability of 4 post-doc fellowships for the research project
‘Searching for the Neural Foundations of Spirituality and Religiosity in the predictive coding of the internal and external world’
funded by the John Templeton Foundation under a subcontract with with the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab (Chicago, US).

The 4 positions are available for 13 + 13 months starting in February 2023 until March 2025.
Candidates for the 2 Senior fellowships (about 2.200 Euros per month before social security contributions) are expected to have completed a PhD in Neuroscience and have noninvasive brain stimulation (tACS/tDCS/TMS) and/or EEG expertise.
Candidates for the 2 Junior fellowships (about 1.800 Euros per month before social security contributions) are expected to have at least a master degree in Psychology, Biology, or related disciplines and previous experience in cognitive neuroscience research.

The general aim of this research project is to investigate the neural bases of spirituality and religiosity using EEG recordings and noninvasive brain stimulation methods. The Project is part of a larger scale project involving European and North-American partners and devoted to the study of the cognitive neuroscience of religious cognition (https://www.cognitiveneuroscienceofreligion.org).

The research activities involve:
– the Body Lab UdinE (https://bodylabudine.uniud.it) at the Laboratory of Cognitive Neuroscience of the University of Udine (Prof. Cosimo Urgesi e Dr. Alessandra Finisguerra);
– the Consciousness Group (https://vincenzoromei.com) at the Department of Psychology of University of Bologna in Cesena (Prof. Vincenzo Romei);
– the Social & Cognitive Neurosciences Lab (https://agliotilab.org) at the Department of Psychology of Sapienza University of Rome (Dott. Gabriele Fusco).

The candidates will join a collaborative team, with flexibile staying in one of the 3 collaborating centers, which offer state-of-art equipment for noninvasive brain stimulation and EEG.

The candidates will be invited to online interviews on January 10th January 2023 (short deadlines).
